    Nope, haven’t. For me, the Victorian setting is a huge part of the Sherlock Holmes appeal itself. I mean, I know a lot of people have issues with the RDJ movies (personally, my favorite Holmes is Jeremy Brett), but one of my favorite things about the second movie was the way they pulled in politics and world events of the time, like the French anarchist bombers, the implied lead-up to WWI, and a little glimpse of an article about the Mayerling incident. If you don’t have that historical element with the character, I’m just not terribly interested. Maybe I’m missing out omg, but we all have to choose to miss out on something in order to manage the hours we’re given in the day.

    Also, God bless, but I just do not get the Benedict Cumberbatch thing at all.
